Today we marked World Cancer Day, a global opportunity to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer, support those affected by it and showcase the work and innovation going on around the world to diagnosed, treat and prevent cancer.
The day coincided with the launch of the Governments new National Cancer Plan for England, a plan set out to allow England to become a world leader in cancer survival and deliver an NHS fit for the future.
Chief Executive Joan Spencer said: “World Cancer Day highlights the importance of treating people as individuals. It reminds up that behind every diagnosis is a person with their own unique story and needs. Here at Clatterbridge, we take the time to recognise each individual we care for - understanding what matters to them, shaping our support around their needs, and making sure that compassion sits at the heart of everything we do."
