Ambulatory care (Ambicare) is an alternative to staying in hospital overnight, where clinically appropriate.

It means that people who would usually need to stay in hospital for their treatment can instead have treatment as daycase patients and then go home, supported by their hospital team.

The ambulatory care service at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is known as Ambicare.

Your clinical team may suggest ambulatory care or Ambicare to you if they feel it is clinically appropriate. If you choose Ambicare, your hospital team will make sure you have the support you need outside hospital.

Find out more about Ambicare by reading Bill, Aaron and Catherine's stories and in the news story below.
