Macmillan Quality Environment Mark
Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree holds a Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM), an award which champions cancer environments that go above and beyond to create welcoming and friendly spaces for patients.
A successful MQEM environment is welcoming and accessible, respectful of privacy and dignity, supportive of the users' comfort and well-being, and gives choice and control to service users.
Digital
ISO 27001: Information Security Management Systems
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre attained ISO 27001: 2013 accreditation in 2023, after two audits by the British Standards Institution (BSI) Group.
ISO 27001 is an internationally-recognised best practice framework for information security management. It certifies that our Trust uses a systematic approach to managing sensitive information, so that it remains secure.
Cyber Essentials Plus
This accreditation demonstrates our Trust's commitment to cyber security and provides assurance that we have taken measures to protect against online threats. It was awarded after an audit of our systems by an expert assessor.
Radiation Services
ISO 9001: Quality Management Systems
Our Radiation Services division has been accredited to this standard since 1998; the scope of the certification covers the delivery of radiotherapy, radiology and physics services.
Compliance with the standard requires a commitment to quality and safety, evidence of monitoring of quality and resulting improvements to the service provided to patients.
Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) 2019
In 2021, The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre was awarded UKAS accreditation for imaging services against QSI 2019, a standard published by the Royal College of Radiologists and the College of Radiographers.
Achieving this standard means we meet national criteria that set out best practice to improve patient care and outcomes.
Tessa Jowell Centre of Excellence
The Tessa Jowell Centre of Excellence designation recognises and awards adult neuro-oncology centres that provide excellent treatment, care and research opportunities for patients with brain tumours. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and our partners in the Liverpool Network – The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre – were awarded Centre of Excellence status in 2021, following expert assessment and patient feedback.
Being a Centre of Excellence allows our patients and their families to feel confident that they are receiving the best possible care currently available in the NHS.
