Chelcie is a great nurse who always goes the extra mile for her patients and her colleagues. Jo was nominated by a colleague who said:
Jo is one of the most diligent, motivated CNSs that I have worked with. Not only is she very knowledgeable, she is practical and reliable in terms of her advice to patients, but she is also a fierce patient advocate and always ‘goes the extra mile’ to support them not just with her nursing / medical advice but also directing them in ways to support themselves. She is a vital member of our team – the 'mother hen'. She is always there to answer the phone, not only to her colleagues who reach out to her for support, but also to patients. She is always positive, and a great role model to other staff. Jo ensures she is first there to greet us all and is always last out of the door ensuring everyone is well supported. She is always there, always.

Lisa was nominated by a colleague who said:
Lisa is the most hardworking person I have ever had the pleasure of working alongside. Part of her role is obtaining blood test results from across Cheshire and Merseyside for patients on SACT [systemic anti-cancer therapy]. Her professionalism and care can be seen in every task she does as you can be assured that every single result will be correctly transcribed, escalated to the appropriate person if necessary and anything missing is actioned accordingly all of which helps to reduce delays for patients. She is thorough, approachable and has such a wonderful way with the patients.

Lauren and Katherine were nominated by a colleague who said:
Lauren and Katherine have worked incredibly hard over a period of approximately 10 months to be successful in gaining approval to implement a Trustwide replacement of the defibrillator fleet to ensure the Trust has the best lifesaving equipment possible available to be used at CCC.
They have successfully deployed and implemented the new defibrillators across all CCC sites over a period of 2-3 weeks with Lauren also working tirelessly to hit the target of 80% of staff (approx 750 people) being trained on the new equipment. With all the obstacles that they had to overcome in 10 months, they never lost determination or sight of the end goal, and the Trust will massively benefit from their success.

Karl was nominated by a patient’s family who said:
I have been attending Clatterbridge daily with my father whilst he has been receiving radiotherapy treatment. On day one, Karl sat down with my father and fully explained what was going to take place / passed us a helpline number in case of any concerns / queries we had - just basically put us both, especially my father, at ease from the very beginning. He clearly has empathy and understanding.
During the period of treatment whilst waiting for my dad to be called in I have noticed Karl going about his work - he basically doesn't stop - helping patients / speaking to family - all with a smile on his face. He clearly enjoys his job and is polite with all patients / family. I am very impressed. He can't do enough to help people. He deserves some recognition. All staff members have been brilliant!

Adam was nominated by a colleague who said:
Adam has been programme managing / leading on the delivery of the East and South Pathology Hub. Not only has he overseen a complex change programme of work, but he has also had to lead on many different areas which are outside the remit of his work. This has included procurement, communications and finance etc. Adam has always shown resilience and a 'can do attitude', which has got us to a strong point in the programme. He has never shied away when things have got really hard and somehow finds an extra bit of energy to keep going.
As my line manager and someone helping to manage this programme, I have found him extremely supportive and the 'go to' person I can always rely on, especially when there seems to be a problem that cannot be unblocked (Adam always finds away to 'unblock' them). Although non-clinical / patient-facing, the outcome of Adam's work will have a long-term positive impact for staff and patients alike.

Despite the difficulties, Husna has consistently gone above and beyond in her role, showing unwavering kindness and emotional support. She has personally taken the time to sit with this patient before and after appointments, reassured them through difficult moments and actively worked to build trust.

Spike was nominated by a colleague who said:
Nothing is too much for Spike, from fulfilling his work duties to ensuring staff and patient wellbeing is being looked after. From buying patients food / activities they are interested in and trying to ensure their mental wellbeing is being taken care of whilst here to help all members of staff on shift, no matter where he is assigned to. He makes sure we are all hydrated and have toilet breaks and gives us pep talks to keep our spirits high, especially during the lows. Nothing is too big or too small to ask for help. He is kind, his entire character shows this, no one is excluded, he shows respect and dignity to everyone he meets.

Sean was nominated by a patient's relative who said:
Sean was my dad’s nurse when we arrived at chemo. He did a thorough holistic needs assessment and actively engaged both me and my dad in this and explained everything very clearly to ensure we were both educated and aware. When an issue arose, he was quick to action this as best he could. He was incredibly open and honest about the issue and the actions taken. He embodied all that it means to be a nurse from his duty of candour down to his courage in confronting the issue and the delay in treatment this had caused. He couldn’t have been more apologetic, helpful and most importantly, compassionate. Sean presented all of these values - he was always kind in his approach, he included us in decision making, he empowered us through education and awareness. Sean has inspired me in his practice with actions I can take forward myself.

Dr Alia has been so supportive all through my treatment. I have stage 4 esophageal cancer and Dr Alia has been outstanding with her care and compassion. She is always ready to listen to any worries myself and my partner have and even though some of the answers are hard to hear, she is honest, kind, and so very supportive. She is an absolute credit to Clatterbridge and truly cares for her patients.
