Diagnostic radiographer
To qualify as a diagnostic radiographer, you need to complete an undergraduate or postgraduate university course in diagnostic radiography.
Then you need to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) to be able to practise.
Those with international qualifications will also need to check their eligibility and register with the HCPC.
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of several local NHS trusts that train students from the University of Liverpool. Our students combine their academic studies with clinical practice in both a local general department and our department.
Sonographer / technologist
- Sonographer – Radiographers can do further postgraduate training to become a sonographer. There are also undergraduate courses if you want to directly train as a sonographer.
- Technologist – There are undergraduate courses where you can directly train as a technologist.
