Community diagnostic centres (CDCs) offer a wide range of health tests and scans (diagnostics) that mean:
- Quicker access to tests
- More convenient for patients
- Reducing pressure on busy hospitals
You might be asked to visit a CDC for your scan or imaging appointment.
Paddington Community Diagnostic Centre
Located close to Edge Lane and Grove Street, Paddington Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) supports local NHS trusts by providing tests and scans for a number of health conditions. It is run by The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust on behalf of the NHS in Cheshire and Merseyside.
Paddington CDC offers: blood tests, CT, MRI and ultrasound.

Clatterbridge Diagnostics
Clatterbridge Diagnostics was one of the first CDCs in England as part of a national NHS programme aimed at increasing diagnostic capacity.
It is a partnership between The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Wirral University Teaching Hospital, and is managed by Wirral University Teaching Hospital.
It is for patients who have been referred to Wirral University Teaching Hospital for tests. We will not usually offer you an appointment there as part of your care at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
Clatterbridge Diagnostics CDC is located on the Clatterbridge Heath Campus in Wirral. It offers the following tests: blood tests, CT, ECG, ECHO, endoscopy, respiratory tests, sleep apnoea, ultrasound and x-ray.

Liverpool Women’s CDC
We might offer you a scan appointment in the community diagnostic centre (CDC) at Liverpool Women’s Hospital so you can have your scan more quickly.
Liverpool Women’s CDC offers: CT, MRI, spirometry and hysteroscopy.
Your scan results will be sent to your consultant at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
