Physiotherapists help to restore movement and function when someone is affected by illness, injury or disability.
Our physiotherapists are experts at assessing and treating physical problems related to cancer diagnosis or treatment. They have a wide range of skills and experience including manual scar therapy (using their hands to help with cancer-related scars that are causing pain or decreased movement).
Our physiotherapy team might help you during your inpatient stay with a tailored exercise plan, advice and guidance, mobility equipment and planning your hospital discharge.
You might also see a physiotherapist as an outpatient at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Liverpool (CCC-Liverpool) or Clatterbridge Cancr Centre – Wirral (CCC-Wirral).
They will design a treatment plan just for you with personalised goals to help you through your cancer journey.
What we do
We provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for adults (aged 18 and over) having cancer treatment by The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. We work with patients to help them with symptoms relating to their cancer or resulting from their cancer treatment.
Our inpatient service covers all types of cancer. Our outpatient service currently covers solid tumour cancers (not blood cancers).
We also support the Enhanced Supportive Care service to provide holistic physiotherapy care to palliative patients.
We accept referrals from The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre’s consultants, nurses and allied health professionals (AHPs). We can also accept referrals from healthcare professionals outside The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in some cases.
If you feel we can help you or one of your patients, please contact us to discuss a referral:
