With over a decade of experience in medical oncology, Dr Noor Tariq has cultivated a passion for both clinical excellence and the mentorship of future medical professionals. She currently treats patients with lung cancer and her main interest lies in incorporating new treatments into patient pathways to improve patient outcomes.
Dr Tariq serves as a Consultant in Medical Oncology and Royal College Tutor at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. She takes pride in fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth for junior trainees.
Her leadership in education extends beyond formal teaching, as she provides one-on-one mentorship to resident doctors, guiding them through complex oncological cases and decision-making processes.
Beyond education, she has held key leadership roles, including lead for the lung tumour site group, lead for acute oncology as well as working as a clinical governance lead. As part of these roles, she has ensured that key performance indicators are met whilst making sure that patient safety and data integrity remain at the forefront of practice.
She has also played an instrumental role in formulating clinical guidelines, developing patient care pathways, and coordinating teaching programmes for medical trainees. She has also developed pathways for patients between the cancer centre and the neighbouring acute trust. These pathways have resulted in better patient care and, ultimately, an improved patient journey.
