Our new Patients Know Best portal is a free online service that will give you secure access to your personal health record. This will include some of your personal health data and important information related to your care at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. 

Only some patients can currently register to access their records on this portal – we are launching it in stages and many of our services are not on there yet.

You will receive an email inviting you to register for the Patients Know Best portal when your personal health record is available there.  

In the meantime, you can still access your hospital letters and appointment details via our Healthcare Communications portal. 

What the portal will offer

The Patients Know Best (PKB) portal will give you more access and control over information about your cancer care, along with personalised advice and support to help you manage your cancer. 

Your information is safe and secure and the portal is easy to use. You can access it any time on any device with internet access (e.g. a smartphone, tablet or computer). You can also choose to share your record with other health professionals (e.g. your GP or another hospital caring for you) if you want. 

Getting started 

You will be invited to register for Patients Know Best when services for you are available on there:

  • We will invite you to register for Patients Know Best. Your consultant or another member of your clinical team might speak to you about it. 
  • Then you will receive an email from Patients Know Best with your unique registration link. The link is personal to you – no one else can register using it.
  • Just click the registration link to register and create your account. Alternatively, your Cancer Support Worker can help you to register.  
  • If you already use the NHS App, you can use your NHS log-in to access Patients Know Best. You can then log in via the Patients Know Best website log-in page. 
  • If you don’t use the NHS App and don’t want to register for a NHS log-in, you can create your own password when you register using the email you received. 
  • When you have registered, you will be able to access your record any time by going to the Patients Know Best website log-in page.

Note: This portal is currently only available to some patients. We are rolling this out in stages and you will be invited to register when services for you are available on the portal.
